Gary has been working with acrylics since 2015 and is passionate about this art form. His journey began following a vacation in Newfoundland after which he was encouraged to attempt painting from it's beautiful vistas. Initially frustrated with the fast-drying medium, he was fortunate enough to connect with Mr.Charles Spratt who has mentored him along the way and encouraged him as a plein air artist.

Educated in Guelph in Marine Biology and completing Medical School at the University of Western Ontario, Gary practiced Family Medicine for over 40 years in Kemptville. Retirement has afforded him the opportunity to reconnect with nature and attempt to capture the beauty of its light and shadows.
